Remember When MTV Played Music Videos?

I was sitting here, sipping on a cold Coors Light and watching music videos on Youtube, when it hit me like a ton of bricks: My kids will grow up thinking this is how people get their fix on new music.

I can remember when I was  a kid, I longed for having MTV. Since we lived in the country, we didn’t have cable. We did have satellite, but my dad thought MTV was trash, so he refused to subscribe to it. I was then forced to get my music interest from WPKO, which to this day, is less than lackluster. When I would go to Danny’s house growing up, we would watch MTV all the time if we weren’t playing video games. Between the music, and Beavis and Butthead, it’s how we entertained ourselves as kids.

So, I guess since MTV has long since moved on from playing music videos, and now revolves around reality tv, that is what my kids will think MTV always was, and they will get their music videos from Youtube, or whatever site comes along in the future. Kind of sad if you think about it, eh?

Lost Highway - Now Available on Hulu

I found this listed in my RSS Reader this morning, and it really took me back. I remember when it came out, I think I was a Junior in High School, and myself, along with Nate and Danny went scouring video stores trying to find it. I think we finally found it in a video store around the Indian Lake Area. We took it back to Danny’s and thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it is a very deep movie.

Years later, in college Nate found the movie in DVD, and we got to enjoy it again (many times in fact) and even started to understand it further. It’s a pretty deep movie, but a lot of fun none the less. Unfortunately, you should be informed that it does contain adult content, so viewer discretion is advised.

And now that Hulu has it, if you can’t find it anywhere else, at least you can find it here They even have a 480p Hi-Res Version. Enjoy!

3 Years with Honda

I should have posted this back in May, but I finally had a chance to take a picture of the gift I received for my 3 years with Honda. I also get to pick another gift out from a catalog, but I haven’t had a chance to yet.

Anyway, it’s a frustrating and rewarding 3 years, and I’m sure there will be many more.
