Busy and Tired…

April 26, 2006 on 2:32 pm | In General | No Comments

Man I’ve been so tired lately. I feel like I could lay down and sleep for 2 days straight, and then probably get up and take a nap. Work has been so slow lately, and that makes the day drag by. Hopefully things will speed back up soon.

Along with work, it seems like the buying process for a house never ends! Now I’m just waiting for the owner to get some minor issues fixed, and then hopefully we can close. That will hopefully be next week or in two weeks.

Speaking of next week, it looks like I’ll be heading down to the Gulf Coast in Alabama next week for Rod’s Wedding, convienently scheduled for my birthday! I can’t wait. The long drive is going to be a pain, but it will be well worth it I’m sure. It will also be Tera’s first time to see the ocean, so it’s going to be that much more special. O yeah, and Danny is going with us too :D It’s going to be a great time I’m sure. All three of us will be taking plenty of digital pictures, and uploading them nightly if all goes well (meaning as long as we can find an open wifi access point).

It looks like there is a golf outing being planned by some old UT buddies, so hopefully I’ll be heading north soon for a day for golf, beer, and all around fun. Overall, May will probably be a pretty busy and fun month!

Quick House Update

April 19, 2006 on 2:39 pm | In General | No Comments

Just wanted to toss up a quick update on the status of the house purchase.

My bank loan has been approved, and they were supposed to perform the appraisal last night, so hopefully I’ll know the results of that soon. I’ve also schedule the foundation inspection for tomorrow night, and the home inspection on Friday. After all that, all that is left is to close, which will hopefully be the first week of May, then it’s time to move in!

Unfortunately, I probably won’t be able to do any moving until after the first weekend of May, because I’ll be heading to Alabama, and the Gulf of Mexico for Rod’s Wedding! That will be a lot of fun I’m sure, but then I have to get back here to do some serious moving. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post up a bunch of pictures of the house this weekend, and I’m also looking forward to being able to post up pictures from my Gulf Trip while I’m down there. God bless wireless laptops! :D

Verbal Agreement Reached, Now the Fun Part…

April 15, 2006 on 2:39 pm | In General | No Comments

I finally came to terms with the seller of the house I liked so much from the start. From the moment I walked in the door, I knew I wanted this house. But I couldn’t see spending near what the realtor was asking (it’s realtor owned), and ended up having to walk away from negotiations about a month ago. After working some things out, and talking some more to the bank, I was able to go back to the table with this guy, and get him down to what I was willing to spend. Now for the fun part.

It’s no done deal by any means, but we’re close. Now that we have a tenative agreement, I have to go through the dog and pony show of securing the financing and closing. Hopefully in a few weeks, I’ll be able to post up here from my new house :D

Hopefully my new House!

A Small Update

April 10, 2006 on 12:23 pm | In General, Site News | No Comments

Just wanted to take a minute out of this busy day to give an update to anyone who actually visits this site.

In the housing market, I’m very close to finalizing my financing, which means all that is left is to buy a house, which I’m very close to deciding as well.

As for this site, I’ve added the ability to track visitor information through Google Analytics. So far, it’s provided quite a bit of data about where visitors are coming from, as well as the OS they’re running and which web browsers are being used to view the site. I’ve been extremely suprised at the number of unique visitors I get every day!

I also started up a small Fantasy Baseball League. Although it’s a long season, I’ve tried to make it very simple for everyone, so hopefully it won’t become too cumbersome. I guess time will tell.

Hopefully in the next week or two, I’ll be able to post about buying a house, at least that’s the plan!
