Headed North

This weekend, the family and I are heading to Toledo. It’s going to great. On Friday we’re going to be staying with my grandparents, and I’m sure they’re super excited about getting to see the kids. I’m sure it will be a good time just relaxing with them, but who knows what else we might do.

On Saturday, we’re heading over to my buddy Josh’s house. That is guaranteed to be a good time. Their son was born just a few weeks before Aiden, and neither of use have met each other’s new addition yet. I’m sure it’s going to be a good time with lots of pictures. Plus, with the St. Patty’s Day Holiday, I’m sure Josh and I will have a chance to sip on a few brews.

On top of all this excitement, Rod is moving back to Ohio this weekend. It seems like it’s been 20 years since he lived up here, so I’m super stoked for him to come home. I can’t wait to be able to actually hang out with him on a regular basis, instead of the very rushed time that we’ve had when he’s been up here visiting in the past.

I’ve found that as you age, both physical and emotional distance starts to grow between yourself and your friends. You really start to find out which friendships were built to last from the start. Rod is just one of the friends that I’m as close to today as I was 20 years ago, so it’s a great feeling to know he’s coming home!
