Detroit Auto Show
January 31, 2008 on 9:27 am | In General, flickr | No CommentsOver the weekend, I headed up to the Detroit Auto Show with Josh, Zim, Nate, and Brad. We spent about 3 hours mulling around the show floor and looking at the vehicles on display. It was a mix of work and play for me, as Honda R&D encourages it’s associates to go to the Auto Show, mainly to get an idea of what the competition is coming up with. Since I was with the guys, it was a lot of fun also. We managed to head to a small Micro-Brewery a little bit up the road from Cobo Hall, called the Atwater Block Brewery. They had quite a good selection of brews, and made a killer Reuben Sandwich. Props to Nate for finding this Brewery, although he was pretty bummed because they didn’t have any growlers in stock.
The picture shown is of me with my diggnation t-shirt in front of the 2009 Honda Pilot Prototype. I made sure to get my picture in front of this particular model because I’ve watched it be developed at my company from it’s infancy. It’s quite a process from concept to production, and it’s been a lot of fun to watch that process unfold. Hopefully, someday when our kids are a little bigger, we’ll be driving one of these down the road. BTW, did I mention we’ve got another one on the way? More on that later
New URL, Same Great Site
January 31, 2008 on 9:15 am | In Site News | No CommentsI finally got around to registering a legit URL for my website. It was a very hard decision, has I’ve had the URL http://jonboy.servebeer.com for about 6 years now. It has served me well, and I’ll probably always keep that URL, but the difference is now that it will forward to the new URL, http://www.jonkunze.com.
I debated for some time on what URL to get, but ultimately, I decided to keep it very simple. Along with that, I’ve also created a mailing address at that URL as well, which is jon[at]jonkunze.com.
Ultimately, I’m hoping that someday I can get kunze.com, but right now it’s being held by a domain squatter. I’m also hoping to get back into the habit of posting more, but only time will tell if that is the case. In the mean time, I will be making some minor changes to the site, so that will hopefully keep it somewhat exciting.
Thanks for keeping up on the site, and let me know if you have any feedback.
What’s Been Going On
January 23, 2008 on 1:52 pm | In General | No CommentsGosh, where do I start? As many of you know, my fall campaign for City Council did not end in a complete success, however, it did give me a bench mark to shoot for the next time. My fundamental feeling on it is that I got 42% of voters to believe that I could do a better job than the guy that’s been doing the job for two years. For that, I’m very proud, and fully intend on running again in 2009.
Staying on the topic of politics, I was appointed to the Logan County Republican Party Central Committee in December. We meet a few times a year to make decisions regarding the party and it’s a real pleasure to serve the party in this role. The local party has suffered some setbacks over the past few years, so I’m excited to help steer the party back on track.
Also, I’d like to go ahead and state my support for Jack Reser, running for Ohio’s 83rd District House Seat. Jack has accomplished a lot for Logan County as a County Commissioner over the last 7 years, and also is a small business owner here in Bellefontaine. I think he will serve the City of Bellefontaine, as well as the 83rd district very well if elected. I’m excited for a fresh perspective in this seat, as I feel the current seat holder has done very little to help Bellefontaine, focusing more on the farming community.
I guess I’ll devote this entire post to politics, and leave the rest of the current events in my life for a separate post

Aiden Walking
He’s finally starting to walk on his own.
My God, It’s Been a While
January 3, 2008 on 6:16 pm | In General | No CommentsI just got on here and realized that I haven’t posted since August, so I thought I better throw something up here.
Lately, I’ve been using Twitter a lot more, so you’ll find more recent info there.
I’m going to get this thing revamped in the near future, and hopefully once I do that, I’ll take the time to update it a little more. Look for more real soon!
